Assessing the impact of community and facility strengthening interventions on antenatal care attendance using facility routine data: Nigeria

  • Antenatal care provides an opportunity for prevention interventions that can improve health outcomes for both the mother and the child​

  • Lack of skilled health workers however, is a big challenge  in  most low-income countries.​

  • An intervention focusing on building the capacity of health workers and community sensitization was implemented  at one health center and its surrounding catchment area in Uganda between Jan 2010 & Sept, 2011 to assess its impact on ANC utilization​
